Care tips

Want to keep your towels looking beautiful, feeling soft and absorbent for years to come? Of course you do. Here's our top 5 tips and reminders for taking care of your lush new towels.

1. Wash 1-2 times per week or every few uses.
Washing towels regularly prevents build up of bath and body products which can end up weighing down your towel and stopping the cotton from being as absorbent as it was made to be.
2. Select a warm wash cycle

These aren't designed for commercial machines (90'C) but other than that can withstand anything from cold - 60'C.

3. Use a washing detergent that does NOT contain whiteners, brighteners or softeners.

Fridah uses OEKO-TEX® certified yarn and cotton for our towelling as a minimum standard. This label certifies that every component of the product has been tested against a list of up to 350 toxic chemicals that can be potentially harmful to health. If this sounds like it is of importance to you we highly reccomend checking the ingredients of your washing detergents and opt for more natural detergents wherever possible.
Our local favourite is Hudstone Home. Our pick from the supermarket would be the Ecostore range. Also browse your local health store, we like plastic free Earthwise.

 4. Hang out to dry and then finish of in a warm dryer

Don't be afraid of a gentle tumble! It can be key in keeping towels soft and lint free

5. Cut off any loose threads regularly

It is only natural for looped terry towelling to get the odd pull or loose thread. Simply snip it off close to the base with some sharp scissors and get back to it!

Your towels will look and act good as new for a long, long time.
