Wash before first use. New terry carries a light finish from weaving, and the first wash is what opens the pile up.
Warm machine wash with like colours. Shake it out before it goes in the dryer or onto the line.
No fabric softener, ever. It is the one thing that will stop a good towel working.

What size are they?

What is GSM, and does it matter?
Grams per square metre: the weight of cotton in the towel. Our bath sheets and hand towels are 530GSM and the bath mats are 600GSM. Heavier means a denser pile and more water held; lighter means it dries faster on the rail. 530 is the mid-point we've chosen to ensure lasting plushness that dries quickly.
How do I wash them?
Wash before first use, to open the pile. Then a warm machine wash with like colours, tumble low or hang. Shake them out before they go in.
Why no fabric softener?
Softener works by depositing a thin coating on the fibre. On a towel, that coating sits over the loops that are meant to be absorbing water. It is the most common reason a good towel stops working.
Where are they made?
Woven in Portugal, in small batches, and certified to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, which tests every component, not just the fabric.
Can I mix colourways?
Yes, and the heritage collection is designed to complement each other. The imperect stripes, borders and contrast edges share one palette, so a Cactus bath sheet and a Tan hand towel sit together rather than clash.
